Bird Toys

Birds are great pets to have because they are fun, energetic and bring a touch of nature to your home. There are many types of birds that have been domesticated; from parrots, to finches and even cockatiels. Taking care of any type of bird can be a difficult task as they are naturally climbers, explorers, and of course flyers. Over 98% of all house hold birds have their wings clipped so they cannot fly. There are many types of bird toys that promote climbing and exploration so pet birds can still display their natural perks.

Shredders- Birds beaks are designed to break and tear; and birds love to break and tear anything they can get their beaks on. Many popular bird toys incorporate cloth so that the birds can tear at the cloth. These toys are usually called shredders and come in an array of different styles and sizes.

Climbers- When birds are unable to fly, they climb. Many bird toys are made from rope or chain so that your pet can enjoy climbing up and down. Many chains and ropes are multi colored, and often times they often incorporate noise makers and ropes make good shredders.

Noise Makers- Bells are one of a birds favorite toy’s. Birds love to make noise, and they love to mimic the noises that they learn. Any toy that can will create a noise will be loved by your pet bird.

Cuddle Bones- Contrary to popular belief a cuddle bone is not actually a bone, it is the shell structure of a cuttlefish. They are most commonly used for birds to get their needed calcium intake. They have a grainy texture and birds love to use their beaks to crack and scratch against the cuddle bone.

Foot toys- In addition to the array of popular birds toys, birds love toys they can grasp with their feet. There are many toys; from ladders to hooks and even small bells, that allow your bet bird to grasp them in their claws.
